#69-8/2006 Dear Friend, About two weeks ago, Jimmy Carter was on most of the prominent American TV interview programs discussing his new book, "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid", and indicating that he purposely chose the controversial title in order to generate public debate on the subject. I had expected that there would be a large number of relevant editorials and op-eds, but there has been only one until today, when Jimmy Carter wrote his own op-ed of explanation. The other recent editorials
and op-eds have focused primarily on settlements built on private Palestinian
land, and the Gaza truce followed by Olmert's offer. Sincerely, Arthur S. Obermayer Jimmy Carter's Book
